Line & Form — Illustrator Portfolio

Problem

A portfolio that shows craft first not a generic template that buries artwork under cards, stats, and marketing clutter. Most off-the-shelf sites feel either too corporate or too busy, load slowly with heavy media, and make it hard to browse work by type (icons vs illustrations vs branding).

What I built

Built Line & Form, a premium static portfolio on Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Framer Motion with brand-first, full-bleed homepage with a calm ink-and-paper visual system. About, Services, and Contact with a validated client-side form (mailto: / optional Formspree). SEO metadata, sitemap, robots, next/image, and restrained motion with reduced-motion support. Shared UI via CVA + cn() for DRY, consistent variants

Challenges

  • Hero vs. brand hierarchy
  • Gallery UX vs. simplicity
  • Performance with visual richness
